Entirely self-taught, Masumi learned the craft of jewellery making as an apprentice with a Tiffany’s bench jeweller. Now, 15 years later, she still handcrafts all of her pieces herself. The cornerstone of Masumi’s work is her collage collection – pieces set with tiny gemstone clusters, combining unusually cut gemstones in seemingly haphazard, collage-like arrangements. Her signature subtly textured finish, achieved through her wax-carving technique, highlights the handcraftsmanship and adds a subtle tactility to every piece.
