An heirloom emerald, reimagined in 18kt yellow gold

This heirloom emerald was taken from a ring worn daily by the client’s mother and transformed into a contemporary 18kt yellow gold design by Leigh Miller — preserving the original stone while creating something distinctly her own.

Before

An heirloom emerald and diamond ring, originally belonging to the client’s mother and worn by her every day. The emerald was preserved as the focal point for a new design.

After

The emerald was reset in a sculptural 18kt yellow gold ring with a soft satin finish, creating a contemporary piece designed for everyday wear. Remodelled by Leigh Miller.

An engagement ring, redesigned with preservation

This heirloom engagement ring was carefully remodelled to preserve two important elements from the original piece: its old-cut diamond and a personalised engraving from the client’s grandmother’s band.

The original engraved plaque was cut from the old band and soldered inside the new 18ct gold ring, keeping the inscription intact. The old-cut diamond was reset as the centre stone, with hidden marquise diamonds tucked into either side of the new setting. Remodelled by Aimos.

Heirloom diamonds reimagined into a sculptural engagement ring

This engagement ring was created using diamonds with different histories: the centre diamond and one accent stone were repurposed from the client’s grandmother’s ring, alongside a newly sourced 0.65ct post-consumer recycled pear-cut diamond.

The stones were reset in warm-toned, unplated 14ct white gold. A flowing, asymmetric setting was designed around the different diamond cuts, creating a sense of movement while bringing the original and newly sourced stones together in one piece. Reimagined by Leigh Miller.

Before

An heirloom three-stone diamond ring featuring the centre stone and accent diamond that would be retained for the new design.

After

The heirloom diamonds were reset alongside a 0.65ct recycled pear-cut diamond in a sculptural, asymmetric 14ct white gold setting.

An inherited emerald cluster ring, reimagined as a contemporary engagement ring

A traditional emerald and diamond cluster ring was remodelled into a bespoke engagement ring, retaining the precious materials from the original heirloom piece.

The original emerald was reset in a simple bezel setting, while the brilliant-cut diamonds were individually flush set along a softly textured, organic band. The gold from the original ring was also reused, allowing the stones and precious metal to become part of a completely new design with a more understated, contemporary feel. Remodelled by Natalie Perry.

An heirloom emerald pendant, transformed into an 18ct gold ring

This heirloom emerald was originally set into a cameo pendant belonging to the client’s grandmother. The aim was to transform the stone into a ring that could be worn every day, while protecting the highly included emerald during the remodelling process.

Rather than removing the fragile stone, its original bezel setting was preserved in its entirety. Leigh Miller created a new 18ct yellow gold Bubble Ring was carved and cast separately, before the emerald and its original bezel were laser soldered into the new setting to minimise the risk of damage.

Heirloom tanzanite and diamonds remodelled into a contemporary ring

This bespoke ring was created using heirloom jewellery gifted to the client by her grandparents. The original tanzanite and diamonds were removed from their existing settings and brought together in an entirely new design.

The tanzanite takes centre stage, surrounded by the mixed-cut heirloom diamonds in an asymmetric arrangement. Set in yellow gold, the varied diamond shapes create a more organic, fluid setting while preserving the stones from the original pieces. Designed by Irena Chmura.
