Based in Brooklyn, NY, designer Masumi Hayashi creates fine jewellery with a playful sense of style. Tiny in scale, her Japanese heritage and inspiration shine through her entire collection. Entirely self-taught, Masumi learned the craft of jewellery making as an apprentice with a Tiffany’s bench jeweller. Now, 15 years later, she still handcrafts all of her pieces herself. The cornerstone of Masumi’s work is her collage collection – pieces set with tiny gemstone clusters, combining unusually cut gemstones in seemingly haphazard, collage-like arrangements.
